Although I came from a farming background, my first role was in research and development before I reverted to type and moved over to the property industry, becoming a farm agent in a national firm. From there I joined Property Vision in 1993, which was then a relatively nascent firm and sector. We built Property Vision to be the preeminent firm of buying agents, developing the genre and setting the standards of the buying sector. In 2001, we sold the business to HSBC Private Bank and become an integral part of the wealth management offering. I was a managing director of HSBC Private Bank with responsibility for Property Vision and a “Young Talent Program” for the UK Private Bank before leading an MBO in 2012 to acquire the business back from the bank. We are now an LLP of 13 partners across three offices, representing clients in the acquisition of both prime residential and commercial property.
